We are looking for respondents for a short questionnaire related to Yogad language use. We are interested in assessing the current status of Yogad language communities all over the world.
To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years of age and you must be of Yogad heritage (i.e. at least one of your parents identify as belonging to the Yogad Tribe).
You will be asked to rate the Yogad language across 10 factors. There are no right or wrong answers. Please answer according to your experiences and knowledge about how the Yogad language is used in your area (i.e. where you are located or where you live right now). You will also be given a chance to give additional comments. Please be assured that your responses will be kept completely confidential. This survey is hosted and housed by Qualtrics, a secure software recognized by Carleton University.
The study should take you around 10-15 minutes to complete, and your participation will be valuable in informing us of the next steps we need to take to further maintain the use of the Yogad language. Your participation in this research is voluntary. You have the right to withdraw at any point during the study, for any reason, and without any prejudice. We are looking for volunteers for a study related to preserving the Yogad language among migrant families in Canada. Participants will receive refreshments along with a non-monetary token of appreciation. This will take place at a mutually safe, convenient location in your city.
This project will be conducted from October 15th to April 12th, 2022. The study aims to explore a set of home-based practices related to the use of the Yogad language. During this period, parents, children, and extended relatives living with the household will be included in the study.
To be eligible, you must be a family of Yogad heritage living in Canada, with at least one parent fluent in the Yogad language. If your spouse is non-Yogad, they will also be asked to join you for the interview. Parents must be at least 18 years of age, either Canadian permanent residents or citizens, and have children living with you.
Parents, children over 8 years old, and extended relatives will only have to meet with the researcher twice. Each participant will be asked to participate in two 90-minute face-to-face and/or online interviews. Participants at least 18 years old and above will also be asked to complete a short questionnaire on the Yogad language use in your area. Children younger than 8 years old and who are able to express themselves will only be asked to do one 30-minute art activity with the researcher. Kami ay nananawagan para sa mga kalahok na kusang makikibahagi sa isang pananaliksik ukol paggamit ng salitang Yogad ng mga dayong pamilya sa Canada. Bilang pasasalamat, makatatanggap ka ng libreng meryenda sa araw ng panayam at ang isang maliit na token o regalo. Ang pagsusuri ay gaganapin sa isang malapit at ligtas na lugar sa inyong siyudad.
Ang pag-aaral na ito ay gaganapin mula Oktubre 15, 2021 hanggang Abril 12, 2022.
