RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS & VOLUNTEERS

HERITAGE LANGUAGE MAINTENANCE ONLINE SURVEY

If you are a migrant parent living with your children in your host country, and your family speaks a language that is NOT English or French, please help me by answering a survey for my project. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete, so I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

You may also share this on your social networks. Thank you!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR YOGAD LANGUAGE STUDY

We are looking for volunteers for a study related to preserving the Yogad language among migrants in Canada. Participants will receive refreshments along with a non-monetary token of appreciation. The study takes place at a mutually safe, convenient location in your city.

This project will take place from January 7th to April 11th, 2019. The study aims to explore a set of home-based language practices related to the use of the Yogad language. During the study period, you will only have to meet with the researcher twice. You will be asked to participate in two 90-minute interviews.

To be eligible, you must be a parent of Yogad heritage, speak Yogad fluently, use Yogad continuously in your home, and have children living with you in Canada who also know the language. You must be at least 18 years of age and must either be a Canadian permanent resident or citizen, preferably living in Montreal or Toronto.
